Street Fighter X Tekken Mobile out now - iOS

Capcom confirm that Street Fighter x Tekken Mobile is available in the App Store from today for the initial promotional price of $2.99.

Based on the critically acclaimed home console release but with a complete redesign of controls with mobile devices in mind, Street Fighter x Tekken Mobile features brand new modes and a new take on the tag team mechanic. With a choice of ten characters, the balanced roster includes Ryu and Chun-Li from the Street Fighter series, and Kazuya and Nina from the Tekken series.

Street Fighter x Tekken Mobile introduces Gauntlet Mode, where players can put their speed and skill to the test in a timed survival mode.

Players can take on fighters around the world over Wi-Fi, or battle with friends over Bluetooth. The game is compatible with Game Center, so players can work their way up the global Street Fighter x Tekken Mobile rankings.

Street Fighter x Tekken Mobile is compatible with iOS 5 or higher, and playable on iPhone 4 and 4S, iPod touch 4th Gen or later, iPad 2 and the New iPad.

Street Fighter X Tekken Mobile is based on the console version of SFxT but with a few twists: The controls and feel of the game are very familiar to Street Fighter IV Volt players and the Tag formula has been reimagined to make the matches a lot faster and more dynamic.

In SFxT Mobile you still get to choose 2 fighters: a primary and a secondary character. Your secondary character does not have a health bar; instead, he or she works more like an enhanced assist character that has a small timer. If your secondary character gets hit, the timer runs faster, and when it's over, one more hit and you're out temporarily. Then your primary character comes back to the arena. If your primary character runs out of health, you lose the round. It's simple to grasp and it's definitely a lot of fun!

The gems and Pandora mode have also been reworked. Every time you hit a launcher, a gem roulette is triggered, activating a random gem at the end. And Pandora mode now sacrifices your secondary character for the temporary health and attack boost; once the timer runs out, you star losing your health, but you only lose the round if you get hit - kind of like Dark Phoenix in MvC3.

One more thing: you can remap all the on-screen buttons! You can drag them to be lined up on the side of the screen, or put them into an Arcade stick button layout... it's definitely a great feature - especially for iPad users!
